Minimum quantity for screen printing
You decided to choose for screen printing. That’s awesome, because screen printing gives you one of the best decoration results. Or maybe you’re not sure if you want to choose for screen printing because it’s not clear how the minimum quantity works.
What is the minimum quantity for screen printing? And what do you have to know if you want to order clothing? Read on, and enjoy the feeling that your world will become clearer than ever.
25 Prints is the minimum
The minimal quantity of screen printing is 25 prints. This does not mean 25 pieces, like 25 t-shirts. It actually means that there has to be 25 prints. For example, you can order 5 t-shirts, 10 sweaters and 10 hoodies with the same print. I did not set ‘same print’ in bold just for fun, what I mean is that the print has to be exactly the same. So if you want to print a quote, the size and the colours have to be the same. If you want to print less than 25 designs, we can advise you to choose for digital printing.
What you need to know about the price
The price per print will be lower if you order more pieces. The quantities and corresponding prices are determined per 25 pieces: 25 – 50 – 75 – 100 – … pieces. Also, the cost depends on the design. A one colour design will be less expensive than a design with 5 colors.
A color switch is a fixed cost to print your design in different shades. The standard cost for a color switch is in general 20 euros for 1 color switch.
Let’s clear things up with an example. You want to order this:
- 10 white t-shirts with your quote in black
- 5 black hoodies with your quote in white
- 10 red sweaters with your quote in white
For this order, you have to pay one color switch, because you want one quote in a different colour on the white t-shirts. A white print on a white t-shirt would be stupid, right?
I hope that this example made the minimum quantity for screen printing more clear. But here’s another question: do you already know what sizes you will order? Don’t guess, but be strategic. We advise you to read the post ‘What sizes do I order?’.
